Francis Lewis Park- Queens

I know for a fact most of you have not gone here! My first time was a few years ago. I cannot express how beautiful this park is! It’s sort of hidden so i can understand why many people have not gone here.

The beginning of the park is a small playground for kids but if you keep walking you will find some benches and small little beach. Okay. okay. Not a beach but something like it. There’s actual sand, water and you get a perfect view of the Whitestone bridge.

I’m a night person, entonces fui por la noche. But, I bet the day time view is just as perfect. The transportation might be a little annoying especially if you’re taking the bus but it’s still worth it.

I walked around bare foot but that’s just me. I always try to the full experience!

El parque de Flushing

OK. I know a lot of you know about this park. But, do you really know it? Most of you recognize it by the park with the Big world on it or the park in Men in Black. But, to me it’s the park around the corner where i was raised. Yo me recuerdo cuando mi padres me llevaron por la primera vez, i couldn’t believe how big it was! I really don’t think people understand how amazing this park is.

As you know, most new yorkers don’t know anything about camping or somehow we turn everything into a city thing. I, for example, have never gone camping!  But, my parents had this great idea to camp in Flushing park. Hahahah . Yes! we brought a tent! This tent never left my living room but it finally did for the first time.

This park is full of culture. All my childhood memories are in this park. You have people in the street selling you el mejor mango. Then, as you go inside, people sell you all types food! This is not legal but people do it anyways. Who care though? Like come on. You get a plato full of carne con arroz and a fresh lemonade. For like 5 bucks. Doesn’t that sound like perfection?

Another great thing is that they do free concerts! So, if you don’t know what to do on a hot summer day, go to flushing park. Bring anything that will make your trip memorable. As you can see, my family brought a tent.

a MUST follow blogger!

So, this week in my Social Media and Public Relations class, we received a new project.  We have to look for other bloggers that similarly match to ours in a way. And i found a perfect blogger. This is Dana Silvestri – who blogs about food and mainly focuses around the area in New Paltz. This became a great guide to me because I currently live here and she understands that we are college students, so we don’t want to be spending more than we should.

However, my favorite post is called A Poor Man’s Breakfast. Hahaha nothing beats that title! I already knew by reading it, what i should expect. – Who knew Bistro sold $1.95 breakfasts! What! And, in the end she adds a delicious picture of her meal- which won me over!

This is a must follow page. Especially if you live around New Paltz and if you’re a college a student, this is something you should be looking at.

Below, you will see her post! Please click on the link to see more!

Bryant Park – Movie Night.

Every Monday, Bryant park plays a FREE film. You get to relax with your friends and wait till the movie starts. Please get there at 5pm (that’s when the lawn opens) and usually the movie begins at 8pm.

Yeah, Yeah, i know that sounds like a long time to wait but when you’re sitting down with amazing company, eso no va a importar. Just bring some wine, a book to read, cards to play, or literally anything to keep you going. So Enjoy! . And get creative!

Also, this is for the summer time! Don’t go now in the cold and start blaming me for sending you in the wrong season. hahha. By the way, these pictures are real! i took them and yes, i made it till the end.
